Looking for low cost simulation products for the San Marcos residency programs of General surgery and OBGYN we attended the International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare in Orlando, Florida held in January, followed by a tour of the University of Miami Gordon Center for Simulation Technology and their “Harvey; the Cardio Patient Simulator”. Yale’s Center for Medical Simulation in New Haven CT gave a comprehensive tour of their facilities earlier in the year.

We found a few companies aimed at lower cost solutions but saw what an industry this has/is becoming with most facilities having very large budgets. We will keep looking for affordable implementation ideas!
