Here is the perfect example of how OSSA is Working!!

10 February 2017

A 37 year old man was seriously injured in a MVA-and presented with a challenging surgery and no ability to pay for his care. Luckily for him, in September 2016, two San Marcos Surgeons from different specialties; Orthopedics, & General Surgery attended the IGOT conference in San Francisco to learn a muscle flap technique that saves limbs from amputation (see previous post).

This is an example of the 3 missions of OSSA working! – A patient without resources was able to have his fracture fixed and keep his leg.

External Fixator from ECHN

Thanks to the donated external fixator from Manchester Hospital, CT & using the new surgical techniques learned at the IGOT Conference by these very skilled surgeons,

this man now has a chance of a significantly better outcome.

This is an example of how OSSA’s plan for surgical access, education for MDs, and donated equipment works!
